Selection Process
There is no interview for any post. Selection is based on a Written Test followed by a Skill Test. The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and its marks are not included in the final merit list.

The detailed exam pattern and syllabus for the Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) and Stenographer are given below:
Note: To qualify in the Written Test, UR candidates must score at least 50%, while reserved category candidates must score at least 40% in the combined marks of all four sections.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in the ratio of 1:5 based on the category-wise vacancies. However, at least 10 candidates from each category will be shortlisted, even if the number of vacancies is lower. The Skill Test for Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) and Stenographer is a 75-minute Computer Literacy Test covering MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Candidates must score at least 60% (UR) or 50% (reserved categories) to qualify. Candidates applying for Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) and Stenographer posts must also appear for a Stenography Skill Test. The test includes 300-word English shorthand dictation at 60 words per minute, followed by 30 minutes of computer transcription. The maximum permissible mistakes are 10% for UR candidates and 12% for reserved category candidates.
The final merit list is prepared only on the basis of Written Test marks for candidates who qualify the Skill Test. If two candidates score the same marks, the tie is resolved by General Intelligence & Reasoning marks for Assistant/UDC posts or English Language & Comprehension marks for JPA/Stenographer posts. If the tie still remains, the older candidate is placed higher in the merit list.

Read the Important Points Below to Understand This Recruitment Clearly:
Skill Test Is Qualifying Only
The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and its marks are not added to the final merit list. Candidates who qualify the Skill Test whether Computer Literacy alone or Computer Literacy plus Stenography are ranked only on the basis of their Written Test marks. There is no interview in the selection process and since the final merit list is prepared only from the Written Test marks, candidates should focus their preparation mainly on the Written Test while also ensuring they qualify the Skill Test.
Assistant vs JPA: Understanding the Competition
Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree can apply for the Assistant and Upper Division Clerk (UDC) posts, making these posts open to graduates from any discipline. However, the Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) and Stenographer posts also require one year of experience in stenography and English shorthand speed of 60 words per minute (w.p.m.), in addition to the prescribed educational qualification. The JPA and Stenographer posts have more specific eligibility requirements than the Assistant and UDC posts, as candidates must also meet the prescribed stenography experience and shorthand speed criteria, even though all these posts are in the same pay level.
