Note: The above mentioned 325 OBC vacancies need to be understood separately. Of these, 172 posts fall under the established 14% OBC reservation, while the remaining 153 posts are linked to the additional 13% reservation, which remains subject to the outcome of Writ Petition No. 5901/2019 pending before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.

Because of the pending reservation matter, the final result to be issued in two parts. The first part covers approximately 87% of the vacancies, totaling 1,021 posts, while the remaining 153 posts are subject to a provisional result until the reservation-related issue is resolved. Candidates should therefore note that the 153 affected vacancies, covering the applicable OBC and General category positions, may not receive the same final status at the initial result stage.

**One detail candidates should keep in mind is that the Rs.743.40 portal charge is payable again if they qualify for the Hindi Typing Skill Test. In other words, candidates who clear the Preliminary Examination and are shortlisted for the typing test must pay the same prescribed amount again to participate in that stage. 

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age as on 1 January 2026. The upper age limit varies according to the candidate's category, domicile status, and gender. The applicable age limits and relaxations are detailed below:

Note: Ex-servicemen are eligible for age relaxation equivalent to their length of military service, subject to a maximum of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit. Also, candidates who have worked on a contract basis in the Madhya Pradesh High Court or MP District Courts for 5 years or more in an equivalent or higher post may receive age relaxation equal to their period of contractual service, provided their resulting age doesn't exceed 55 years.  

Reservation benefits and the related age relaxations are available only to eligible original residents of Madhya Pradesh, and candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST, or EWS categories from other states must apply under the Unreserved (UR) category and will be considered according to the applicable UR age limit.

Educational Qualification

The basic educational requirement is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university. In addition to graduation, candidates must meet the prescribed computer qualification requirement, for example, applicants need either a valid CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) scorecard issued by MAP-IT or another agency recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government, or a one-year Diploma in Computer Application from an institution recognised by the state government.

Selection Process

Note: Preliminary Examination is only a screening stage, and its marks are not included in the final merit calculation. Candidates who qualify are shortlisted for the Hindi Typing Skill Test, with the shortlist prepared at roughly five candidates per vacancy in each category. Note: In practical terms, clearing the Preliminary Examination gets you to the next stage, but the Hindi Typing Skill Test plays the key role in final selection. Candidates must type on a Remington Gail keyboard, with minimum qualifying marks of 55% for General and OBC, 45% for SC, 40% for ST and PwD, and 49.5% for EWS. It is also important to note that Skill test carries penalties for errors: 0.50 marks are deducted for each mistake and 0.10 marks for each backspace. This makes accuracy and careful typing just as important as speed.

Salary, Job Location, and Service Conditions

The Assistant Grade-III post carries the pre-revised pay scale of Rs.5,200 - 20,200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1,900 under the 6th Pay Commission structure. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the corresponding pay matrix provides a basic pay range of approximately Rs.19,500 to Rs.62,000.

Postings are made across District and Sessions Court establishments throughout Madhya Pradesh. The district allotted to a selected candidate is decided through a counselling process, taking into account the candidate's merit rank, category, and vacancy availability in the respective district. Candidates cannot claim a particular district or posting as a matter of right, and requests to change the allotted district during the counselling process will not be entertained.

Selected candidates must execute a Rs.2 lakh service bond and commit to serving for at least 3 years after joining. This bond requirement is waived/relaxed when a candidate resigns with prior permission specifically to join another Madhya Pradesh State Government or Central Government post.
